Overcoming Funnel Pain Points for Small Business Owners

A funnel is an important piece of the client journey. It’s all about creating an experience that your prospective clients don’t want to turn away from.

You’ve got funnels, but do you know how to use them?

Funnels are a pathway to draw people into a specific product or service that you offer and you may have many funnels for your various types of services.

These are a piece of your client journey that have a specific structure and you shouldn’t need to reinvent the wheel each time you have a new offering.

Funnel Optimization

When building momentum, small business owners often find themselves wading through challenges when it comes to optimizing their funnel.

If trying to do it all yourself, along with everything else, you likely feel the strain of limited resources, then there is the ever-changing digital landscape. The journey to funnel success is fraught with obstacles. Let’s dive deeper into the pain points faced by small business owners and explore strategies for overcoming them.

1. Funnel Tips on Limited Resources

Small businesses operate on tight budgets and with limited manpower. Balancing funnel optimization alongside day-to-day operational tasks can feel like a Herculean feat. It’s key to find ways to allocate resources efficiently while maximizing their impact on funnel performance.

Here are a couple of tips –

  • Use a template or begin with an existing landing page to copy.
  • Make sure your form feeds into you CRM/email list – Hopefully those two things are the same thing or you are adding more steps.
  •  Take advantage of automation with emails, tagging, reminders – the possibilities are endless here!

2. All the Funnel things: The downfall of Many Hats

Do you feel like you wear multiple hats, or millions of hats? That makes it hard to be an expert in what you do PLUS marketing, sales, and funnel optimization. The technical intricacies of setting up analytics, crafting effective landing pages, and running targeted ad campaigns can feel overwhelming. TIP: Find someone that can help give you the insights you need to close the gap on your goals!

3. Get your Funnel out there: Complexity of the Digital Landscape

Digital marketing is a constantly shifting terrain, with new tools and tips emerging at every turn. Keeping pace with these changes feels daunting, and honestly can made you a bit mad, like insane. Staying informed and adaptable is key to navigating this ever-evolving landscape. TIP: Find some folks to listen or read their content to help you stay up to date on the key topics and needed knowledge.

4. Funnel Messaging: Difficulty in Targeting the Right Audience

Identifying and reaching the right audience is paramount for funnel success. To get started, you don’t need access to robust market research or sophisticated targeting tools to hurdle the struggle to connect with your ideal clients effectively. You need to better understand your target market, you need to solid message around your unique selling proposition, and you need a plan.  TIP: Take a few days to realign to your ideal clients and your messaging. A great place to start is our Ideal Client Workbook. If you are good there, take a look at our library of additional resources to get you moving in the right direction.

5. Measuring and Analyzing Results

Data is where it’s at. However, interpreting that data and deriving actionable insights can be a grewling task for small business owners without access to comprehensive analytics tools or expertise in data analysis. Investing in education and seeking out resources for data interpretation is crucial for making informed decisions. TIP: Confirm you have Google Analytics and Google Search Console set up. If you already do, then review the last few months of data. Take note on where to grow from.

So, yes, the path to funnel optimization is full of challenges! You’ve got limited resources, need expertise to the complexities of the digital landscape, you’ve got to navigate these obstacles – and that requires resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.

It’s time to address these pain points head-on and implement effective strategies and solutions so you can build the client experience for success and build momentum for your business.

An Approach to Holistic Marketing

An Approach to Holistic Marketing

An Approach to Holistic Marketing

by Hillary Sciscoe

Do you often find yourself juggling limited resources while striving to make a meaningful impact?

From Funnel to Flywheel

What if there was a client-centered approach to holistic marketing that could unlock remarkable results, even on a shoestring budget? Let’s check out the flywheel model – it’s a game-changer for heart-centered service-based entrepreneurs ready to revolutionize their marketing strategies.

The flywheel has been around a couple of decades now and I learned about it when I was in the SaaS world – Software as a Service, subscription-based software. And it’s time more small business owners were aware.

Loving Community

Focus on Existing Customers

At the heart of the flywheel model lies a simple heart-centered concept: prioritize delighting your existing customers.

This means personalized interactions, exceptional (often overdelivering) service, and proactive communication that transforms clients into enthusiastic advocates. By actively seeking feedback and implementing it, you demonstrate genuine care and build lasting relationships.

Loyalty Programs & Community Building

In the flywheel universe, loyalty is the currency of choice. Reward returning customers with irresistible incentives like discounts, exclusive offers, or early access to new services. But why stop there? Forge a loyal community around your brand through engaging events, workshops, or online forums. This not only fosters trust but also creates a tribe of devoted supporters.

Holistic Marketing: Content & Social Media

Ah, the power of content – a mighty force in the flywheel’s arsenal. Harness organic reach by sharing helpful content, answering burning questions on social media, and offering free webinars or consultations. Collaborate with like-minded businesses for cross-promotion, amplifying your message to new audiences. And let’s not forget the magic of customer stories – authentic testimonials and case studies that speak volumes.

Building Momentum

Embarking on the flywheel journey may seem daunting, but fear not – starting small is key. Focus on mastering one or two flywheel activities before adding more complexity. Embrace the abundance of free tools available, from freemium marketing automation platforms to social media scheduling wizards. And don’t forget to track and analyze key metrics to refine your approach over time.

So, what’s the trick? There’s not one.

Be genuine, transparent, and focused on providing real value to your clients. Start with what you have, leveraging your existing skills, resources, and network to your advantage. And above all, keep your gaze fixed on long-term growth – for in the flywheel’s steady spin lies the promise of sustainable success.

So, are you ready to embrace the flywheel and unlock a world of possibilities? With a focus on customer delight, valuable content, and strategic leveraging of resources, you’re poised to set the wheel in motion. And with your heart driving, the possibilities are unlimited!

Are you confident in who you are speaking to? If not, take advantage of our Ideal Client Workbook. It’s free to download and we’ll walk through it with you to help you build your own momentum and  align your strategy!

Turning Advocacy into Growth

In the digital age, word-of-mouth marketing remains a powerful tool for business growth. Satisfied clients who become advocates not only promote your brand but also contribute to its credibility and reputation. In this blog post, we’ll explore strategies to motivate and instruct small business owners on how to encourage clients to become enthusiastic advocates for their business.

The Power of Advocacy

Satisfied clients are more than just customers – they are your greatest advocates!! ✨ Their positive experiences and recommendations can significantly impact the success and growth of your business. Research shows that people trust recommendations from friends and family more than any other form of advertising. By harnessing the power of advocacy, you can amplify your brand’s reach and influence in the marketplace.

Identifying Potential Advocates

The first step in encouraging advocacy is identifying clients who are likely to become advocates for your business. Look for clients who have expressed high satisfaction levels, provided positive feedback, or referred others to your business. These clients are prime candidates for advocacy and can be instrumental in spreading the word about your products or services.

Building Strong Relationships with Satisfied Clients

Building strong relationships with your clients is essential for fostering advocacy. Show genuine appreciation for their support and loyalty, and go above and beyond to exceed their expectations. Personalize your interactions, listen to their feedback, and address any concerns promptly. By prioritizing client satisfaction and building trust, you lay the foundation for lasting advocacy.

Encouraging Advocacy

Once you’ve identified satisfied clients and built strong relationships, it’s time to encourage advocacy actively. Here are some effective strategies:

  1. Implement a Referral Program: Incentivize satisfied clients to refer others to your business by offering rewards or discounts for successful referrals.
  1. Request Testimonials and Reviews: Ask satisfied clients to share their positive experiences through testimonials, reviews, or case studies. These social proofs can be powerful endorsements for your business.
  1. Facilitate Social Media Sharing: Encourage satisfied clients to share their experiences on social media platforms by providing shareable content, such as testimonials, success stories, or branded hashtags.
  1. Host Customer Appreciation Events: Show appreciation for your clients by hosting exclusive events or webinars. These events provide opportunities for networking and reinforce their connection to your brand. Have them bring a friend!
  1. Provide Exceptional Service: Continuously strive to provide exceptional service and value to your clients. A positive experience is the best incentive for advocacy. And overdeliver!!

Encouraging satisfied clients to become advocates for your business is a valuable strategy for driving growth and success. By identifying potential advocates, building strong relationships, and implementing effective advocacy strategies, you can leverage the power of advocacy to amplify your brand’s reach and influence in the marketplace. Start harnessing the power of satisfied clients today and watch your business thrive.

5 Steps to Avoid Wasted Resources in Heart-Centered Small Businesses

by Hillary Sciscoe

The Essence of Resources in Heart-Centered Businesses

In the pursuit of your purpose, every resource plays a vital role. Financial investments, human efforts, and time are invaluable components that shape your ability to connect with your audience. To truly thrive, respect and harness these resources wisely.

Action Item: Conduct a thorough audit of your current resource allocation. Identify areas where resources may be underutilized or misdirected and reallocate them for maximum impact.

Unveiling the Cost

In the realm of heart-centered small businesses, resources are the lifeblood that fuels your mission to guide, inspire, and transform lives. However, the absence of a well-crafted marketing strategy can lead to a significant pain point: wasted resources.

Strategic Spending Over Trial-and-Error

Overspending on ineffective campaigns is a common pitfall for businesses without a clear marketing strategy. Avoid the risk of financial strain by developing a thoughtful plan that focuses on targeted, impactful marketing efforts rather than blindly experimenting.

Action Item: Set specific, measurable goals for your marketing campaigns. Regularly assess their performance and adjust your strategy based on data to ensure efficient resource utilization.

Focused Impact Over Scattered Efforts

While diversifying marketing efforts is essential, spreading them too thin across various platforms can dilute your brand’s impact. Strategic planning ensures that your resources remain concentrated, amplifying your presence where it matters most.

Action Item: Identify the platforms and channels that align best with your target audience. Streamline your marketing efforts on these key channels to maximize impact without unnecessary dispersion.

Preserving Resources for Lasting Impact

Wasted resources extend beyond financial losses; they include time, energy, and dedication. Protect your hard-earned investments by crafting a strategic path that safeguards your resources for long-term success.

Action Item: Implement time-management techniques and tools to ensure that your team’s efforts are aligned with strategic goals. This will prevent burnout and ensure sustained commitment to your mission.

The Power of a Well-Crafted Marketing Strategy

To overcome the cost of wasted resources, heart-centered small businesses must prioritize the development of a comprehensive marketing strategy. This plan provides the structure and direction needed to make the most of your resources, aligning your efforts with your goals and resonating with your ideal audience.

Action Item: Develop a detailed marketing plan that outlines your goals, target audience, and key strategies. Regularly review and adapt the plan to evolving market dynamics, ensuring ongoing relevance and impact.
